| The PC XP Cache wrote: | For each Monster Kill a player makes while leveling, a percentage of the XP gained is put into a bank account tied to that Player. Players will be able to set this percentage between 5-20% but never below 5%. With 30 levels and 435k XP, this is 5-20% equals between 22k-87k XP.
When the PC reaches level 30, this XP is transferred to his Account level XP Bank and becomes available for that player to use on any other character, new or existing. If the player banks the PC before level 30, they will receive 50% of XP on the PC as normal and 75% of the PC XP Cache value. |
Now here's where this gains meaning to PVP:
| Raiding another PC's XP Cache wrote: | PvP will affect the PC's XP Cache.
The Player killed will lose 25 XP per level (50% normal) from the live XP on the PC they are playing. They will still never lose a level from pvp. This is the same as dying to a monster, just losing 1/2 as much.
The Player killed will also lose XP based on his Killer's Level:
If the Killer is Equal or Lower level than the victim, 25 XP per level is awarded
Each level difference between the Killer and Killed will result in a +/- of 5 XP per level. So a Level 20 killing a level 15 or lower gains no XP (but also suffers no penalty, Pk is still ok), while a level 15 killing a level 15 gains 375 XP (25 * 15) and the Level 15 killing a level 20 gains 1000 XP.
Formula is: PvP XP = VictimLevel * 5 * GetMax(0, 5 - (KillerLevel - VictimLevel))
If your PC is level 30 and has no XP in their Cache, this XP will instead be withdrawn from your Account XP Bank. Your Account XP bank will be able to go into deficit and if it does, 1/2 of all XP earned on any of your PC's will go to the Bank until your XP Debt to the module is paid off. (pending coding)
PC's with a high number of PK's will have a Bounty automatically assigned by the module. Any player will be able to ask a special NPC for a Hunter's License. It will check all the players logged in and if any of them are close to your level and have a high % of PK's (meaning they kill lowbies) you will get a random assignment to hunt and kill that PC. Success will give/take double (or triple, we'll see) XP for that bounty kill.
|
Obviously it is meant to encourage PVP. This system gives XP rewards for PvP without it being "Free" XP. If you want to kill your buddy 20 times for XP, you are only cheating your buddy's XP Cache and not the module for XP. I think it takes away all the downsides to past suggestions for an XP award for PVP. |

Just some numbers:
| Quote: | Barkos Władca : lvl 22 pvped 24 transferred 840 XP from Eldrich
Barkos Władca : lvl 22 pvped 21 transferred 420 XP from Fate's
Memphisto Arc Warlock : lvl 17 pvped 17 transferred 425 XP from Moon
Moon : lvl 22 pvped 24 transferred 840 XP from Memphisto
Airen : lvl 17 pvped 14 transferred 140 XP from Viper
Moon : lvl 22 pvped 26 transferred 1170 XP from Grawnil |
1170 XP is the biggest cache raid I've seen so far - go moon. Just for contrast, a level 20 killing a level 30 would score 1950 XP for that victory but if the 30 kills the 20, the 20 loses nothing. This may encourage more people to stand and fight against the odds. |

I had help. I only got the lucky kills in. There were 5 of us, Grawnil and Memphisto were very brave to try and take us all.

A dog is truly a man's best friend.
If you don't believe it, just try this experiment.
Put your dog and your spouse in the trunk of the car for an hour.
When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you!? |

Doesn't the level 30's XP cache gets banked when he hits level 30? So there would be no XP to win by defeating him.. |

They should collect it at Max Level.
| Code: | | if (GetHitDice(oPC)>=30-nECL) SDB_MovePCBankToAccount(oPC); |

There is a bank NPC in the small building to the left of the exit to Loftenwood heading towards the graveyard. (North) Her name is Mrs. Moneypenn the Banker, or something to that effect.
Be aware that there is no way to set the amount XP you withdraw. It will automatically withdraw everything you have, or pull enough to set you to 190K (level 20) if you have enough XP. |
