not a chance of rolling back your system to a previous-driver-instaled date using system restore?
you loose all programs installed in the mean time, anti-virus sometimes goes mad, and maybe you have to reinstall the anti-virus, but that solution usualy works. |

installed new one, then uninstalled it, then installed older version, then uninstalled that, then installed the new one again.
I see that i should have probably rolled back instead of uninstalling the first time.

Infact, I did make a system restore point a day prior to installing the first time. I'm always afraid of installing drivers, or installing/uninstalling/updating anything system critical for that matter. I of course disable Norton before installing system critical items, and the last thing I want to do is uninstall and reinstall Norton. I probably won't go back to the restore point because included in my install of the new video drivers, I updated several other my my programs, and cleaned up my computer of old files and uninstalled some unused crap. I don't want to do all that again.
On a slight side note, has anyone ever gotten something called Shockwave Updater? I just found it on my taskbar, clicking on it does nothing, left, right and wheel. It doesn't show up in add/remove programs, and I have no idea how to uninstall this crap. It probably came with some update I did for Adobe programs. I hate when companies install new poop without notice, maybe I was careless in clicking "next" on the install of updates. |

Yeah, I did. I forgot how I got rid of it though. See if you can find it through services.
Run->services.msc
You might be able to find it there and disable it. If not,
Run->msconfig
It may be set for boot and you can disable it through there. |
