Epic Weapons

Heres the deal: the boss system on DeX is hella boring, and now it looks like we are gonna pile more crap on top of it. More bosses aren't gonna make this game any better, its just gonna prevent me from pvp.

Why don't we just have a pvp rewards system, instead more unnecessary farming.

Lets say this system was implemented, and there a nice dwarven waraxe with on hit: harm that you want. You would actually have to kill people in your level range (35-40 for a level 40 character) in order to earn these things that I'm gonna call "honor marks" for now. The amount of marks earned per kill is based on the challenge rating of the opponant (1 mark if rated easy and 5 marks for challenging or higher kills).

There would be an epic shop that sells weapons for honor marks. The dwarven waraxe, for example, might cost 1000 marks. The amount for each weapon should mostly equal, with slight adjustments made based on strength/usefulness of the wep.

Must you always refer to BoW weapons in these little examples?

Aside from that though, I totally agree with the idea of PvP reward. At the moment there is absolutely no reward whatsoever for PvP aside from the fame, glory and all that assorted crap. To prevent abuse.. well.. obviously you dont get a reward for killing faction buddies.. and let's say.. only lvl 40s get this little bonus, and a bit of a penalty (something other than xp) when you're a 40 and you get killed by a 40?

I would agree with this however it should be far from the top of the priority list. Right now focus should be put toward making pvp more balanced and fixing the subs.

I agree with adonis in that respect. but I also like this idea but do you realize this is like wow??

in wow there is pvp honer points then there is arena points and you can buy great items with both.

if we do something like this it would have to go by lvl not by rating. so if it was a lvl 5 vrs a lvl 8 the lvl 5 wins and get 6 points and say a lvl 36 kills a lvl 40 would get like 8?? but there will still be ways to exploit this as just get a friend to log a 40 and kill each other over and over. so how would we make it work?

Just make the system only applicable to people lvls 35-40....and BAN the xploiters!

Well.. How about:

Only lvl 40s can get these points. They get more points for killing another lvl 40 than they would for killing a lowbie, and if a lvl 40 gets killed by another lvl 40 they lose a tiny bit of this pointage. And then let's say that you don't get points for killing the same person more than 3 times in a row. You gotta kill someone else in between, and then just for good measure, you don't get points if you kill the same person more than once in.. mm.. 2 or 3 minutes.

It would be possible for someone to "exploit" that system.. but it would be about as much of an exploit as buying and reselling dye. You can if you really want to.. but.. uhh.. suit yourself.

give people a reason to fight back in minos. Maybe we could just have a static amount of points earned per kill tho. I can see people making builds that max out at lvl 38 or 39 just to exploit a dynamic point system.

I disagree with this. People don't need more reasons to run from pvp.

These look like some decent anti-exploit checks.

I think it would be retarded not to introduce it.. It will definitely boost PvP.

Oh yeah.. and people should still get some of these points for killing lowbies. "because it's there" is no longer a good enough reason to go PKing, and I have no more room for lowbie tears. PKing needs some lovin'. It's the lifeblood of DeX.

This is rather simple I believe.

Lvl 40 killing a lvl 40 would get 10 points
Lvl 40 killing a lvl 30 would get 5 points
Lvl 40 killing a lvl 20 would get 2 points
Lvl 40 killing a lvl 13 would get 1 point
Lvl 40 killing < lvl 13 would get 0 points

Lvl 39 killing a lvl 40 would be 9 points

Lvl 30 killing a lvl 35 would be 6 points

Lvl 20 killing a lvl 40 would get 5 points
Lvl 20 killing a lvl 20 would get 1 points

Lvl 1 killing a lvl 40 would get 0 points
Lvl 1 killing a lvl 5 would get 0 points

Lowbie PvP would be worth points, but only a few. No insane amounts of points for killing higher levels, and system is based on 40 pvp so killing with < lvl 40 will get you less points than killing with 40s. To prevent exploiting add a 5 minute timer before killed PC's are worth points again.

And imho, weapons should stay farm-only. I think this honor system should give prizes similar to kewpies. Perhaps 200 points is worth one kewpie? There are never any tournaments so the chances to get rare dmg stones or spell stones are next to 0. This would give the same effect. Maybe add a nice factor that in a spree kills are worth 1.5 times normal point value.

Here is a crazy idea. Can you create an arena just for pk like a coliseum???? Then you get points or money or whatever if you win???? How about real kool gear?I am new to NW and just want to build my character right ,before gettin pk ed and wish there was more of some sort of way to restrict attacks on each other based on levels. And starting it on the higher built characters. That way us newbies can learn the basics before someone hacks us to bits,making it a little more sporting. And an arena would really be cool to do this type of leveling. Rainlov

Well the arena could be used for raids and tourneys, PK still has to be done on main server.

I am worried about the rewards system as soon as it comes out I can name 5 players who will immeidately start exploiting it and if there are ways they will find them. I won't mention names here but I have my list.
