should a lvl 3 spell do 480 damage ? i was pvping against a mage w necro staff and averaging near 500 damage per spell.... nasty and overpowered IMO...

Technically its maximized flame arrow so its a level 6 spell. Evos have 5 spells that can disable you or kill you. FoD level 7 for Necros. Confusion level 4 for Enchanters. Whats your point?

i think point was that 400+ dmg when fail saves is INSANE
same as 150 ice storm dmg and chainlight

Wasnt the necrosis staff meant to do only negative damage but seed never got it working properly so it does double damage of fire and negative.

I'll take a look at the Necrosis Staff. I thought it only added like a few damage to all spells?

ooooor just nerf damn pure mages dmg? they should be used as precission, dominate, flesh to stone, confuse, fod, oor large aoe spells like uuuhburust, atm mages only use ice, chain, flamearrow, igmis, wery rare occasions iv seen people use dominate

max damge on a flame arrow is 432 if the victim fails every save and has no resists

ice does 150 damage no save
igms do 144 damage again no save

these damages are just insane....

But the thing is in team PvP, every spell a pure wiz is precious since they always get focused first and are easily killable with KDs, spell breach, criticals, archer, and pure barb rage. No other build dies so fast when focus fired. So a pure wiz must choose the best spells since he or she knows they will probably only get about 5 spells off before dying. And in those 5 spells, hardly any of them are damage spells, they are all mords and disabling spells.

If a pure wiz can get more than 5 spells out, then the other team is either outnumbered or have bad team coordination. The thing about pure wizs are they pwn in low number team PvP or 1v1, but they become more and more useless in higher number team PvP. Come to think about it, a team bard is the complete opposite; they get more useful in higher number team PvP Razz.

FFS can people get it freaking right!

Please dont speak unless you know something...

I've had a nekro stave for weeks, and what it does, is change every SECOND flame arrow, from fire, to neg.

It adds NO damage AT ALL.

It also nerfs IGMS, you do neg every second missile, so NEP halves IGMS DMG..

Stop whining about a staff you know sweet all about.

And highest flame arrow DC is 47, not that high.., lvl 9 monk and RDD's are prettymuch immune.

Personally I find my necro more dangerous.

nekros staff gives 5 disc/conc/spellcraft and does the neg damage thing and it also gives a 8th &9th lvl wizzie spell slot thats all the important things it does

Hahahahaha... no.

You can make damage dealing pures.

You can make disabling pures.

You can make a hybrid and have them be less good at each.

As for countering, thats what HP sorcs are for.
