DEX2 WEAPON CHANGES
The following weapons have been modified on DEX2 to be more useful in PVP.
The numbers displayed (within the OLD and NEW columns) represent base damage, critical range, and critical mulitplier, respectivley.
Note that these changes are NOT yet reflected in game on your character sheets; It will show the numbers in the OLD column there, but you can verify they are working per the NEW column by examining data in the event log of your user interface. We can not fix this without using a custom TLK file.

Great Club has been activated as a feat (but needs testing). It appears to be completely coded but just de-activated in the 2da's. I'll add it to the crafter tonight so someone can test it. (PM if you want to test a Great Club build for me)
DEX2 WEAPON PROPERTY RULES
Here is the formula to determine how much bonus elemental damage each weapon type can have crafted onto it by the craftsmen NPCs in the towns. The amount that can be added to a weapon is determined by the weapon's size, crit range, and crit multiplier, and is measured by Mods.
For each Mod allowed, the weapon can do up to 2 damage. Thus, weapons will get between 10 and 20 additional damage which can be split into any combination of dice, so long as the total does not exceed the maximum (ie a weapon with 14 additional damage can have either 1d6+1d8 or 1d4+1d10).
| Code: |
Damage Mods, Mass Crit dice and Vamp Regen by Weapon Size:
Size Mods Mass Crit Vamp Regen
======== ==== ========= ==========
2-Handed +6 2d6 +5
1-Handed +4 2d4 +3
Light +3 1d6 +2
Thrown +3 1d6 +2
Ammo +2 1d4 +1
Damage Mods by Crit Range:
Crit Range Mods
========== ====
20 +2
19-20 +1
18-20 +0
Damage Mods by Crit Multiplier:
Crit Mult Mods
========= ====
x2 +2
x3 +1
x4 +0 |
Exotic Weapons get +1 damage mod since you burn a feat for them.
Mighty is limited to the # of total mods (size+critrange+critmult+feat, or 5-8 for those weapons that can have it)
Comparative Chart, sorted by Maximum (Non-Crit) Damage
**based on 12 levels of monk. Damage can be significantly lower (if less than 12 monk levels) or higher (if more than 12 monk levels)
This chart should not be the only consideration for chosing your weapon.
It only considers damage based on weapon type, and mods craftable by town NPC merchants.
It does not consider enhancement bonus. It does not consider bonuses from other various spell buffs.
It does not consider the 30 level item limit nor bonus damage available from enchanting stones (below).
It does not consider strength bonuses (except in the case of ranged weapons, where mighty property assumes you have adequate strength modifier)
This chart could be manipulated in many more ways. If you'd like to derive other information using this chart, you may download it here:
http://www.4shared.com/file/37954436/bf18acdd/Dex2_Weapon_Chart.html
WARNING regarding the Great Club. This weapon is not working consistently. You might not be able to select the feat Weapon Focus Great Club.
DEX2 DAMAGE STONES
Additional bonus damage properties can be added onto weapons if you find and apply Damage Stones. These are boss drops which will add Magic, Neg, Pos, Divine, Sonic, etc. Each drop will add 1d4 damage if the type doesn't exist on the item, or increase the existing damage by 2 (from 1d4->1d6->2d4->1d10->2d6 (max).
Note that the character attempting to use these stones must be high enough level (which is determinant upon what level the weapon would be after the stone were applied).
You will not be able to craft a weapon above level 20; If you attempt to use a stone that would put the level of the weapon over 20, you will not lose the stone, rather, it will be returned to your inventory.
Cauton: Once you add a stone to a weapon, there may be no way to remove that property from the weapon. Currenlty, our highest NPC crafter can only add properties which would increase them to level 15, and remove properties from weapons level 14 or below. These ranges will increase when we get our level 20 crafters (on an upcoming map). |

am I being really dense or just missing something...
...it's just that a +5 weapon with 1d6 elemental damage requires lvl 18 to equip...which is more than any crafter will craft (lvl 15)...
...how are you supposed to get up to the 20 allowable for a warmace, if you can never create an item that powerful...let alone to equip it! even a scimitar (12 by above table) wont be able to reach it's damage maximum without going over the craftable item level restriction
dunno...maybe I just missed something somewhere! |

Don't put +5 on the weapon and use GMW for that and you'll get a bit more damage. If you want more damage you have to trade some other bonus for it.
Also the 20 level cap will be a thing of history soon and I was thinking past 20 when the chart was made. |

Any volunteers to re-create the spreadsheet that was in this thread before? I am guessing it was removed due to the changes in base weapon damage, crit range and multipliers of various weapons here on DEX. Be as creative as you like (i.e., could add columns for extra stone damages, or some indicators of limits, etc). Some players liked that old chart and would like to see it again. I could put something together in a few days, though if someone else would, it'd save me an hour or two and would appreciate it. Thanks! |

Should be up to date. Feel free to ignore the colors, though. That was for personal use. |

I tried making a greatclub Wm but I couldn't find greatclub on the feats list. I was able to find a gretclub in game though by talking to the bladesmith. |

Just tested this out,
the weapon focus greatclub feat is available,
I was able to make a WM specializing in Great Club,
One thing that seemed odd was that upon taking my first level of WM, the only feat it showed being gained was ki damage, whereas the weapon of choice greatclub feat did not show up (weapon of choice is the feat one should get automaticaly upon their first level of WM).
I did some investigation and discovered why it wasn't showing up, I have prepared a file for the fix and will send it to Seed within the hour.
Never-the-less, the lack of that feat on your character sheet shouldn't have any ill-effect throughout levelup, at least none that I am aware of.
I later chose improved critical GreatClub feat,
power crticial greatclub was also available in the list,
which feat were you unable to find? |

I was unable to find weapon focus greatclub, so i had to settle for scythe. If it turns out that i later can select the greatclub focus and it's shown that weapon master bonuses are given then I will remake the character. Is there a way to delete the old character? |

Hmmm, I just created the fix for the weapon of choice feat, went to test it out, and this time, I too was unable to find the weapon focus great club feat, so something strange is happening. I'll investigate further until I can pinpoint the cause. Sorry about that.
There is a way you can delete that character and receive some xp back. Remember to transfer your items and gold off of him to another character first. Then, use the DEX2 Player Statistic Website to delete your character, instructions here: http://www.dungeoneternal.com/phpBB2/ftopic6224.php
And currently, the website URL itself is http://69.248.2.1/index.cfm |

Did you try to take weapon focus at level 1, or after level 1? As I recall, the Greatclub was never in the game to begin with, and had to be added (the feat was in the game, but inactive, or something?) so it is possible that, like all thing .hak, it didn't add Weapon Focus (Greatclub) to your feat list at character creation, and had to be taken at a later level. |

I was able to select it after level 1.
The server files are configured such that you should be able to select it, either
you had something in one of your overrides (may want to doublecheck if you are still interested in this build),
or this is just a problem intrinsic to the great club weapon.
Note that DEX2 change had intended to make exotic weapon proficiency a pre-requisite for this weapon. However, that shouldn't prevent it from showing up in your list of feats to chose from (its still considered a simple weapon for that purpose), though you may not be able to equip it if you don't have this proficiency feat.
So players beware, use great club at your own risk. I've manipulated the files in many ways to try to fully resolve issues around great club, but we haven't got it fixed yet.
Blinddaggar, since this was your first build here and you reported this issue, I'll reimburse your full amount of xp. I'll be looking for you in game; I assume your game id is the same as your forum id. If not, PM me.
Thanks |

Per players' request, and thanks to the head start provided by IceShard, we've updated the top post of this thread to include a weapon comparison chart. |

you can't get 2d6 mass crit on 2 handed weapons. You can craft to max 1d10 mass crit and then add the mass crit stone to it but it fails and says you can't go further than 1d10. Also it doesn't say it will hit lvl 21 and i tested in toolset too it stays lvl 20. |
