Hi everyone.
i have a problem when i try to insert www.dungeoneternal.net in the New PW Definition it says "Couldn't finish reading from web: the remote name could not be resolved: 'www.dungeoneternal.net' " i don't know what it is.. but i followed you tutorial, and saw that in mine New PW definition theres written "this feature is disabled until obsidian fixes the nwn2main.exe !" game-client start:" box and maybe that's why it doesn't work, if you know how to fix the problem please reply |

I get the same error when trying with *.net, if I use *.com instead it works. Seed stated to use *.net and not *.com so I'm a bit confused :p |

I'll try to contact Seed so that we can get this fixed.
In the mean time, try .com, it might be up-to-date.
Please tell me which file you get, i.e., does it offer
DEX#1017.PWC or DEX#1018.PWC?
I don't think that Seed can update the .com site anymore and that it will fall out of date.
Thus, he's tried to set up .net site. Needs some tweaking apparently. |

So you were able to successfully complete your download via WG?
Are you trying to launch from some kind of "launch + connect to" ini command?
Try to launch NWN2 via the NWN2Launcher.exe if so. |

That really sounds like you are trying to launch the game from worldgate, which is a planned feature on their part.
Just to be on the safe side, double check that the proper files are downloaded.
Check the folder "My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/PWC"
Is the file "DEX#1018.pwc" sitting in this folder.
This is 310 megs or so in size.
If that is ok
Check the folder "My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/hak"
Is the file "dex.hak" in this folder. It is 269 megs or so in size.
These are what you need to play.
I am assuming the two files are in the proper spot, i just wanted to confirm, if they are then worldgate has done it's job properly. Now follow these instructions for how to connect to the game.

Yes, you should have received xp_craft_ui.hak too.
You have everything set up correctly now. However, NWN2 is a very sensative game. Server lag can be affected by the individual client systems. Thus, we ask everyone to please read a thread in the HELP forum, HELP US Reduce Server Lag and Crashes: http://www.dungeoneternal.com/phpBB2/ftopic6469.php
You won't need to read the entire thread, I've summarized all of the important stuff within the top post.
If you follow the instructions there, you will get less lag. |

I just did an adjustment to the WorldGate host-site at www.dungeoneternal.com site.
Previously, Seed had been the administrator of this site, and I attempted to reconfigure it so that I can now administrate it.
Artestes, please do the following:
right-click the MyComputer icon on your desktop,
select Search... from the resulting drop-down menu
search for "All files and folders",
within the field called "All or part of the filename", type in *.pw
and in the field called "Look in", select Local Hard Drives (C:;D:;E
then click on the search button
This will result in finding your .pw file form DEX2, please delete that file
Now run WorldGateClient again, select "from URL" and
type in www.dungeoneternal.com,
click on test and exit,
then click on check for new files
Please let me know what the results were. I am anticipating that it will connect and say there are no new files. You should also get a new file, the filename should be DEX2_PWC_Hatred.pw
Thanks |
