I'm off and running, a great deal of thanks to you Pain and Lugia for your help. I'm still sorting out some game crash difficulties, sometimes when the server is loading, and whenever I type out a public chat or shout, but those difficulties likely originate on my end as NWN2 would often crash during the campaign play for me. My character is called Romar Rift on the server, just to make myself even more of a target for swift execution whilst roaming about in the game world. Look forward to partying with you all. |

Just wait for it. It makes you look at ad for a few minutes, or pay to get right away. |

When u wait til the time is up, u can choose which location to download. Unforturenately, no matter which location u choose it will still tell u invaild and each time u try, u got to wait 60mins or more. What they want is just to make u pay thats all. As long u dont pay u cant download it actually.. |

I think you've got a firewall or router that is making things hard for you. I bet it's blocking http downloads which would affect worldgate and rapidshare. Not sure exactly how, but these things do work for most people. |

Try entering your router/modem via this URL:
192.168.1.1
You'll likely be able to get in and configure it via that URL.
You might also need to get a manual for your router/modem, if so, search via Manufacturer and model number. |

I've heard folks getting help from http://www.portforward.com/ on configuring their routers as well. Hopefully it is not something the isp keeps locked up.
To find your routers ip, what DM Hatred suggested is usually what the ip address is, but a lot of modems use other ips. To make sure that is your routers ip you can type "IPconfig /all" in the dos prompt without quotes then look for the "Default Gateway:". (Dos is at Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt). Then you just use http://192.168.1.1/ assuming it is the ip DM Hatred gave you.
Also it could be a setting on your computer itself, windows has a firewall, and some antivirus can be very defensive. I'd be very hesitant on turning these off though, as a virus can get on your computer just by being connected to the net. I'd also look for some proxy settings, and look at any tech support from your isp.
Some will block known hacker sites, and rapidshare is really a prime place for hackers moving warez from user to user. The school network for example would block all forums trying to protect the kids and if i was on their network i would be having the same problems you are having and more. Obviously though you can view these forums, but isp's are known for deliberately blocking ports and sites they don't like people using. |

I can config my router, but there is no such an option to disable it. I can only lower the settings. I tried to lower all the settings to the lowest but worldgate still dont work for me...
I tried on both Win Vista and win XP with everything disabled (antivius, firewall,UAC). ALL just didnt work....
Could it be ISP prob? |

Yes, isp's will block ports and address ranges just to prevent issues for themselves. Port 25 is routinely blocked for email now on most isp's, mainly because spammers took advantage on it. Did you look up how to config your router on portforward, it might have a tip or two.
I've yet to see one blocking http ports, but they are likely to block ip ranges that tend to drain bandwidth or tend to have people that like to hack. I've blocked a few ranges on my works fire wall for example that include india and china, just because the few folks who try to spam my forums tend to be in a rather small ip range.
I have a feeling there is an oddball setting that you have, that really would require a network engineer to figure out because i'm pretty sure it's not obvious or you would have figured it out already. One thing you might want to try is to add dungeoneternal.net, dungeoneternal.com, rapidshare.com to your trusted sites. I don't do windows much so i imagine getting the download from other players is going to have to work. |

I think must be my router/modem. I just tried to run worldgate in my office and it works.
I will try to play around with my modem/router when i back home. |

Might have to spend an hour or two with your modem/router manual, though it'll be worth it. On mine, have to go through NAT (Network Address Translation) settings in order to open ports. Should be an option to temporarily open all ports. Anyway, that portforward URL Pain provides is indeed a very good one. There are links in there to a lot of the most common modem products too. |

I spend another 3 hrs just on my router/modem...
This time I'm sure all my ports are opened and ALL the firewalls are down...
Unfortunately it still doesn't work for me...
I think i have to give up trying...
Really frustrating...
May be i will have to do it in my office every time and then transfer to my PC at home ... |
