Hello everyone.
I've been playing DEX2 for about 4 days now, and I've been having a blast. The server has been a bit laggy for me, but not to the point of being unplayable until today.
I logged in this morning and attempted to talk with the armor blacksmith, and my game crashed. I tried to log in again, and the game crashed again.
I have connected to a different PW and played for hours without a problem. I've also played through alot of the campaign mode with no issues.
Is this a lag created problem? The ping today has been between 1500 and 1800...
Anyone have any suggestions? |

I am having the same problem. However I can't even get past the loading screen before the game crashes. I've tested other servers and it has been fine.
DeX doesn't like me =(. |

I agree it is unplayable. I will come back when it is posted that things are better.
Ping is constantly over 1500...blind kills and moving halfway across the map only to find yourself back where you were and dead...is not fun. |

Might want to try running WorldGateClient again if unable to log in. There is a chance one of the file components may have been corrupted, WGC will quickly find and replace it. |

Jester2007/Hades, could you log into the bic viewer site and check your "MYVAULT" link, and look to see if any of your character files have a filesize of greater than 1 MB? |

I played heavily in April/May, but I stopped until today. Today I used WGC to download the .pwc file and the .hak file or whatever the files are, and I confirmed that there are no files in my override directory. Nevertheless, when I play the game, I get really bad crashes that lock up my computer. I can't even get to my desktop, and I have to physically press the reset button on my computer.
It seems to happen within a few minutes of logging in. Sometimes the crashes are preceded by weird graphic artifacts. I have the latest drivers for my sound/video card. Back when I was playing in April/May, I didn't have these sorts of problems. Sure I had the occasional crash on area transition, but nothing like this. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but there was no .hak pak back then. I believe the .hak pak might be causing instability / crashing issues in addition to the graphic artifacts. Also, I am currently able to play the solo official campaign without problems. |

I highly doubt that dex hak file is making u crash. Do u have any files in ur override? or maybe custom data in hak dir from other servers?
NWN2 is still very fragile during online play, hopefully next patches an exp pack will help to fix that. |

I don't have any data in my hak dir except for the dex hak file. My override directory is empty.
I'll try the tweak guide, but my system is fairly robust, and the game plays fine in single player mode, and it played fine on dex back in April/May, which was before the .hak pak.
The graphic artifcacts are weird. Most of the time, they look like persistent rays of light coming off objects. |

I exported my lvl 20 character and loaded it into a test module. I did all my buffs (about 15) and spun the camera furiously. No problem whatsoever. If I do the same thing on dex, I get the graphic artifacts followed by serious computer crashage. Never had this problem back in April/May.
(I did follow the advice in the tweaking link, but had no success. I even tried deleting all .pwc files and the one .hak file I had before re-running WGC to get the module's files. Very frustrating.) |
