server says expansion pack missing

I downloaded version 1.5.1 of the Worldgate client and updated everything and Im also running version 1.11 of NWN2. Everytime I try to login on server its says map files missing. Im not sure what else im suppossed to do or if something is just wrong. I am running windows xp64 if that mattters and could be the problem. I have searched and I have DEX#1017.pwc @ "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.XXXXXXX\My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\pwc" folder

Maybe try deleting it, and redownloading it?

I deleted both the hak and pwc and going to retry and download. Are there any other files I should be looking for that are related to the install?

You do have Mask of the Betrayer, right?

Splash screen says NWN2 Mask of the Betrayer. I thought saying version 1.11 would give it away. Updater confirms everything is up to date. This is was all done on a clean install. Can anyone verify if the directory structure looks ok because im thinking it may be a xp64 issue. A manual install version of this would sure make things easier.

I've not seen that error message before.
Does it say anything else other than "map files missing"?
The title you used says "server says expansion pack missing", hence Ice shard's question. Did you download NWN2 or the expansion?
Have you played on any other NWN2 on line servers yet?

Not sure if anyone else is using xp 64
though do know that Vista users have problems using World Gate
and we have provided the files seperately for those users in the past.

i got that error message too ive made sure i updated to version 1.11 though the nwupdater,im running vista ive got all hak and pwc files, it says i have the mask of the betrayer. but ive never being on another online server this was my 1st time setting it up and everything seemed to run smoothly. the error message says: required expansion files missing

i think i have theory you need to restart ur computer if u have recently updated to version 1.11

Well there are a few variables here, lets start with just this first one, due to the error message recieved:

Did you buy Mask of the Betrayor and do you own your unique MotB CD Key?
The answers you've provided above aren't saying that you have.
Just because the splashscreen says MotB doesn't mean you have all of the files. OEI is supporting two crowds of users:
those who've only bought NWN2
and those who've bought both NWN2 and MotB

I am guessing that for those who've only bought NWN2, due to the screwy OEI patches, you'll still get a splash screen telling you its MotB.

well do you need to download a module as well as a pwc and hak file ?

btw i got my game out of a graphics card pack lol so i only got nw2 not motb.

and motb comes with a new campaign right, well i dint have that campaign so i think thats a sign that i dont really have motb

You will need to download modules (.mod file) if you want to play them in single player mode.

But you won't need to download a module to join an on-line server, only the server host needs the .mod file.

The .pwc file is basicly a sub-set of the module, which is required by the player (the client), so that's what you'll need - each server/module has their own pwc file, and many also supplement this with a .hak file which allows them to customize their modules beyond the limits of OEI content. DEX2 also has a .hak file.

At DEX2, we have upgraded to MotB.
OEI has tried to make an option available where servers that have upgraded to MotB can host clients who have also upgraded to MotB and those who only have NWN2 - BUT we tried using that before and found that it created too much lag, so now we only host to those who have MotB.

Yes, MotB includes a second campaign, so unfortunately, you don't ahve MotB yet.
