Finger of Death scrolls

I have a little problem with PMs with E warding spamming FOD scrolls till they get you to roll a 1.

Currently FOD scrolls are DC 20. My tank has 51 fort... I'm too tired to not flame, but I think you all get the pic. Vote and put your opinions on FOD scrolls.

They're fine as they are.. any SR whatsoever basically screws it up.. and SR really isn't that uncommon.

It's like an expensive dev crit, if people wanna spend the money, let em.

Technically dev crit is more expensive since it requires 6 feats, 25 base strength, and a successful hit that is a critical with a successful dev roll. So, it's a really cheap way for team bards to get a kill, but the likelihood of it happening is about 5%. If you're lucky you'll get three kills in a tourney like I did with my team bard

So you're making a COMPARISON of DC 20 fod scrolls which can be spammed by any PM to a feat which requires 25 str and how many feats to have?? good comparison.

Dev and FoD is a good comparison..

77 UMD isn't exactly easy to get.. so, unless you're a PM, FoD scroll spamming really isnt an option. Now, PMs arent that insanely common, let alone FoD scroll spamming ones.. and they dont work against other PMs (shadow shield scrolls), people with a lotta UMD (ss scrolls again), or pallies or cleric (deathward), or mages or sorcs (shadow shield), or druids (sr), or decently high level monks (sr) In fact, there are a lotta things out there that FoD scrolls dont work on..

Now imagine if you could only crit someone once a round, and every time you did, it cost you a coupla k gp? Dev would be pretty useless then, wouldnt it. And everyone would be all like "Why does it cost me every time I crit someone" and then because people are poor, it would be all like "Damnit, I blew 500k on crits this last raid", so people would stop taking imp crit and keen.. and no one would want to crit anymore.. unless it was a special occasion.. in which case they would want one but wouldnt get one.. 'cause that's always how it works.

Once you use a FoD scroll you wanna have another.. once you use it once, you just keep spamming them and soon you're poor.. They're like chocolate coated marshmallows, once you have one you just wanna have another. And another. And another. And before you know it, the whole box is gone, and your sister is like, "Who the hell ate all the chocolate covered marshmallows?!" And you try and blame it on the cat, but your sister knows better than that because the cat doesn't like chocolate. So you're like, "It wasn't me, I swear!" But she can totally tell you're lying and she's all, "I can see the chocolate stuck in your teeth, you liar." And you say, "No, that's not chocolate, that's popcorn," but she totally doesn't believe you..

And that's why FoD scrolls are fine like they are.
