Direct Connect (NWN2)

I was trying to direct connect to Dex2 but i can't seem to get it done. When i start Nwn2 with the +connect ip line the game just starts normally without connecting or anything else. I'm using WinXP SP2.

If you connect via Gamespy once, then the next time you use direct connect, the suffix will not necessarily generate within the IP address field.

Try manually typing in the suffix :6121 after the IP address. This works for me.

Then if you later want to direct connect to Dex1, change the 6 to a 5.

That's not what i'm talking about though.

I don't mean the direct connect from the nwn2 menu, that works just fine for me. I mean directly starting the nwn2.exe with the +connect ip line. E.g. ".../NWN2/nwn2.exe +connect 96.77.65.117:5121". It should now start the game, skip the intro and take me directly to the login screen for my nwn2 account. After logging in i should instantly connect to dex.

At least that's how it worked in nwn1 and i've read somewhere on this forums that it works for nwn2 too (unfortunately i can't find the thread anymore).

ok, yeah, I tried using the +connect, though I haven't gotten that to work yet either. I only get half way there (skipping all the intro movies, going straight to the login page).

Though I rather prefer it this way as I then go to see which of the two servers has lower ping rate and/or more players on before chosing which one to log into.

In case you still see the movies, you can add this line to your /MyDocs/NWN2/nwn.ini file under [Display Options] to get rid of them:

Disable Intro Movies=1

I'm guessing we're missing another line or two within the one or more of the .ini files in order to be able to skip the login page. Probably need these and one more:

[Profile]
Client Port=(mine is currenlty 5120, perhaps if it were 5121 or 6121 it might work)
Player Name=(your login)
Password=(your password)
Remember Password=1
Direct Connect IP=68.34.248.223

If I figure it out I'll update this thread.
