Was it the same name as a previously deleted character?

That's why... =.=

Hopefully a Shillow/DM can help you and next time if you absolutely want the same name then slightly change the name by arranging the First Name, Last Name order differently (but the character will still be displayed the same). Of course this won't work if your previous character name few spaces. In that case add random characters like +-|~ lol.

Self owned.

Everyone makes that mistake at least once in the time they play NWN.

What an offer.

symbols and spaces in names don't matter the bic files is named the same regardless of those. He would have to alter it more.

Actually, I think they do Adonis. I used to name builds the same, but with spaces or whatever here and there to make slight differences.

Dunno about symbols, but it depends on where you put the spaces. Putting one at the from or back of either name doesnt work, and changing one space to two spaces doesnt work either.

One space at the front definitly works, and then 2 spaces, and then 3, etc. I know for a fact.

If I had access to the database I could write a script so that deleting a character *really* deletes it. But this might be a bad idea.

For once I gotta agree with Seize. From my memory every tiny change to your name matters. No matter where the space or dash or whatever is.

i think giving you access to the database qualifies as a REALLY bad idea. that is one place where lack of experience and enthusiasm to try new things make a really bad combo.

I learned that about a computer's registry four years back. I screwed it up so bad I couldn't open my ROM drive to put the restore disk in.
