Code Of Laws
LAW 1: Chat Rules:

1. Do not engage in any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically, sexually or otherwise objectionable activity.
2. Be respectful and courteous. Open discussions with many different viewpoints are encouraged - however remain respectful.
3. The DM staff can't and won't referee between arguing individuals. Same applies to "censoring" content. Please refer to numbers 1 and 2 above. If you cannot tolerate comments/opinions of others in a PARTY-chat, then you always have the ability to leave that PARTY and participate in another PARTY.
4. This rule also applies to Forum-chat, Game-spy-Chat, IMs, PMs, E-mails, as well as any other in-game or out-of-game activity/chat between players.
5. The Shout Channel will not be used for any form of harrassment. Harrassment will be based objectively, of which the reasonable person would find acceptable.
6. The DM is the Admin for the shout and talk channel. If a DM says to cease a discussion, the discussion ends immediately.
7. The DM has the right to punish any player that excessively abuses the shout/talk channel and/or refuses to end a discussion that a DM has asked to end.

LAW 2: Exploiting:

You may not exploit any known or unknown bugs in the game.
The following will be considered exploiting (not an exclusive list):
* Using any bug to gain an unfair advantage over another person, player, or monsters that was not the original intent of the games mechanics, game's purpose, and the purpose for which the Mod-creator has designed "it" for.
* Bulleting (using an equipped item to reset the combat round and thus cast continual spells)
* Using a familiar to gain XP at a level in which you shouldn't be gaining XP.
* Stacking of items to deter pickpocketing
* If you have a question as to whether an action is an exploit or not, please ask a DM, admin, or peer before acting. Remember, ignorance is not an excuse. Also, the other peers ignorance will not be a full excuse, however it may alter the consequential punishment.

Back to top
LAW 3: Exploiting without consent:

Consent will only be an accepted defence if it was derived from a DM/Admin or Developer.
Back to top
LAW 4: Improper use of Familiars (No-pvp area):

* Using a familiar inorder to hurt or kill a player in a no-pvp zone is illegal
* Using a familiar inorder to impersonate another player or conflict with any other law is illegal

Back to top
LAW 5: Traps in town (No-PvP area):

* Traps are not allowed to be 'set' in town.
* This also includes the transitions from one No-PvP area to the next No-PvP area
Back to top
LAW 6: Casting in Town:

Casting offencive spells or using offensive scrolls in town
* All offensive spells
* Darkness
* Dispel on area/player
* Countering another person using counter-spell
* Casting of defensive spells is legal, if not used in any way to disrupt or affect another player within the town.
Back to top
LAW 7: Loging out the server to avoid death:

'Quitting' the server in order to avoid the following:

* Death from a Monster
* Death from another player
* Disarming from another player
* Pickpocketing from another player
* Destroy a stun/hold/sleep/fear spell from another player
Logging onto another character is seen as the same as logging to avoid death.
* If you wish to log onto another character, then you must make sure you are no longer being 'threatened' by another player. This can be achived by porting to a town to break lock. (Loftenwood would be the best bet in high level areas), or escaping from the person attempting to kill you, and running back to town.
Back to top
LAW 8: Loging out after PP/Disarm:

* Quitting the server immediately after disarming or pickpocketing another player.
* 'Immediacy' will be considered objectively.
* i.e. If a player is being chased through a PvP area immediately after being disarm and quits the server, this will be considered illegal. However, if a player disarms, then ports back to town (no-pvp) and quits the server, this will not be considered illegal, due to the fact the person who was just disarmed doesn't now stand a chance of regaining his/her weapon in that moment in time.
Back to top
LAW 9: Stocking:

Stocking items in order to give an unfair advantage to a person trying to legally pickpocket you. Stocking involves:
* Holding more than 1 page of ammunition (bullets/arrows/shikurens/bolts etc.), especially if you do not use that type of ammo.
* Holding more than 1 page of useless junk (DM will determine what is classed as useless, however the player should use common sense in order to determine what a DM would consider junk. i.e. holding 2 pages of clothing/weapons/jewelry/ores/plants etc. that would be of no use to you)
Back to top
LAW 10: Factions:

* If you are a member of a faction then you may only be associated with that faction on any of your characters.
Neutrality will be accepted on other characters due to a '1 faction character per player vault' rule.
However, joining another faction whilst still associated with another faction will result in full loss of all characters.
Back to top
LAW 11a: Transition lock:

Locking onto a player as they move through a transition in order to disarm, kill or pickpocket them;
Is illegal from no-pvp to no-pvp
Is illegal from no-pvp to pvp
Is legal from pvp to no-pvp
Is legal from pvp to pvp
Back to top
LAW 11b: Lock; Dislike Bug:

* Liking and disliking a player in rapid succession in order to break a players actions is considered illegal, as well as toggling a dislike to like to port away from combat or death.
Back to top
LAW 12a: Power leveling; With-Higher-Level players:

* No Power leveling. This is where a higher level character (Who is not in your party) weakens a monster(s), damages the monster in an attempt for you to 'finish off' the weakened monster.
Back to top
LAW 12b: Power leveling; Exploit:

* No Power leveling. This is when you use an exploit or bug, beyond it's intended purpose to: give you a unfair advantage over another monster or Boss Using this exploit on a Boss is grounds for Immediate removal of all your items from all your characters.
Back to top
LAW 12c: Power leveling; Legal:

* Having a higher level player come to spawn more monsters than you would have spawned yourself. This is deemed legal as long as the Higher level player in no way, damages the monster which will conflict with Law
Back to top
LAW 13: Casting spells through the use of a bug/exploit:

Casting any spell knowing that when cast it will produce an effect beyond it's intended purpose. This includes (not exhaustive):

* Using a bug to gain a higher DC
* Impossible to resist
* Higher out-put
* Increased rate of casting
* Infinite spells
* Placing higher level extra spells on items, when you are unable to cast them normally. I.e. Placing level 9 sorc spells on an item when you are only capable of casting level 8 spells (16 levels of sorc)
Back to top
LAW 14a: Using NPCs to gain a unfair advantage in Combat:

* You may not use an NPC to guard, tank, or fight for you.
Back to top
LAW 14b: Luring Monsters to Town, No-PVP, and/or Bindstone-Area:

You may not intentionally lead a monster into town and/or Bindstone-Area with the intent to either:

* Use an NPC to guard, tank, or fight a monster for you.
* Use the monster to kill or harm other players.
Back to top
LAW 15a: Grief Ressurection:

* Raising a player in order to kill him/her again and/or disarm
Back to top
LAW 15b: Killing with Malicious intent (Ethereal Plane):

* Placing Caltrops or any other offencive materials in the Etheral player inorder to harm or kill another player, whilst still in the Etheral plane.
Back to top
LAW 16: Bulleting:

* You are not allowed to unequip and re-equip any item in the attempt to gain more attack and/or spells per round than what is normally allowed.
Back to top
LAW 17a: Impersonation:

Any player impersonating another player, DM, DeV-Team member, the Mod-Creator will be punished Severly

This includes:
* Saying you are someone who you are not.
* Using a name similiar in spelling to another person's account name or character name.
* Using the name "Dungeon Master" or the abreviation for it (DM) in your account name or character name. Including "Game Master" abreviated GM

(EDIT ADCK) Let me clarify, if this person is saying: 'I am {INSERT NAME HERE} from {INSERT FACTION HERE} who also wen't by the name of {INSERT OLD NAME HERE}' and then mis-representing said person, then it is illegal.
Eg: if i went on dex and said i was Laylow from GoD, perfectly legal as long as I act exactly like Laylow and didn't try to defame him in any way.
However, If i went on dex as say Snakez and then did legion-type stuff: illegal.
Impersonation is only illegal as long as you don't represent what that person stands for and go by their moral code.

Common Names: Chances are, If it's a word in the English language and is only one word, it's going to occur more than once, this isn't impersonation. And perfectly legal, so I advise that you have a unique name, like mine.

Trademarking: Do you know what a trademark is? A trademark... break it down... Trade Mark, Trade: What are they trading, are they even a company? Mark: a catchphrase or logo that represents said company, eg: the golden arches for mcdonalds is trademarked...
No, you canot trademark or copywrite a single word in the english language.

Don't wan't people to use your name? Then don't use a common name.
Back to top
LAW 17b: Do not use Identical names or names with too many letters/numbers/symbols:

Example: x (first name) y (last name) and x y (first name only)

Long names create lag on server and do not save in any Database.
Meaning all persistents things ( Bindstone, Xp Bank... ) are not saved.

Even though this is under the impersonation sub-heading, this actually has nothing to do with impersonation. This is about you creating multiple occurances of a char in your own account, which WELL lead to database errors, and well automatically delete one of those chars, NWN is only capable of having 1 instance of a player name in each account, it's impossible to have two chars named 'John Smith' in your account.

This isn't a rule that if you break you well be punished for, it is simply a warning for your own conveniance.

Names with too many letters/numbers/symbols well automatically be deleted too.
Back to top
LAW 17c: Familiar impersonation:

Do not name your familiar as a method of Impersonation, or that which will conflict with Law 17a.
Back to top
LAW 18: Using Characters that are not yours:

* Due to a bug in the game system, you may get an "extra" character into your vault that is not yours. Logging in as this character is illegal and you may face delevelment to 1 and/or BANNING.
Back to top
LAW 19: Illegal use of the 'Talk To' option:

spamming the "talk to" option on the radial menu to prevent players from buffing and/or resting is illegal. players seen doing it are fair game for instant delevelment. continual abuse of this will result in banning.
Back to top
LAW 20: Harassing another player:

This applies to:
* Abusing tells and harassing another player
* Any rule above that states that it is harassment
* Using stun spells in excess (Casting stun spells in a row to cause grieving)
* Casting Flesh to Stone and leaving the player there.
* Casting a holding spell and leaving them there permenately or for a pro-longed period of time. (A pro-longed period of time accounts to the DM's subjective view. The DM will take into account whether this was used to grief a player or not).
* Exploiting a bug to ruin another players gaming experience. (EX you use to be able to Cast flesh to stone to prevent Respawning)
Back to top
LAW 21: Run'Gun Archery:

A player is not allowed to toggle the attack mod while running away from a player in order to be able to attack from a distance 'whilst' running. This can clearly be identified by the player shooting out of his/her back, but this is not the only method of detecting this.
* If a player wishes to gain distance between the person he/she is fighting, they must run - stop - shoot - then start running again.
Back to top
LAW 22: Counterspell-Casting:

This is deemed illegal. A player must break the lock of counterspell before casting again.
* Breaking of the lock can be achieved by clicking on the ground nearby, or clicking in the top left hand corner on the 'counterspell' icon.
Back to top
LAW 23: Infinite casting bug:

A player is not allowed to use any method which allows him/her to gain more spells than memorised in his/her spellbook.
Back to top
LAW 24: Expeditious retreat:

A player is not allowed to use the scroll expeditious retreat inorder to 'bug' monk speed. If a player uses this scroll he/she will gain level 20 monk speed as opposed to what he/she should have.
* If a player does become bugged by another method, they must return to town, remove haste item, rest and re-equip item. If this does not work, they must relog inot the server.
Back to top
LAW 25: Playing with bugged speed:

If you become bugged with level 20 monk speed, whether it be from Grease, Web, expeditious retreat or any other spell/action that causes you to run much faster than you are supposed to. You are not allowed to play with it for a prolonged period of time.
You must follow the guidelines in Rule 25. You must un-equip haste, rest, then re-equip haste.
A 'prolonged' period of time, will be measured subjectively by the DM. You must rest at the 1st chance you get and not enter any combat or action before going to rest.

Back to top
LAW 26: Damage Types on weapon:

Damage types are restricted to a certain amount per weapon. These are as follows:
2 dmg modifiers allowed on Arrows
2 dmg modifiers allowed on Bolts and Bullets
2 dmg modifiers allowed on throwing weapons.
3 dmg modifiers allowed on medium/small weapons.
3 dmg modifiers allowed on Gloves.
4 dmg modifiers allowed on Two-handed weapons.

Size's are respective to the player.
I.e. a Greatsword is allowed 4 dmg types for a human.
A Oh My God You Killed Kenny sword is allowed 3 dmg types for a human.
3 dmg types are allowed for a Oh My God You Killed Kenny sword when being used by a halfling (due to the size of a halfling)

Back to top
LAW 27: Griefing in relation to respawn to grave:

* A player must not intentionally place an area effect spell on top of a grave in order for the victim to die twice.
* A player must not place any item, including traps/caltrops etc. ontop of a grave inorder for the victim to die immediately when respawning.
* A player is allowed to place traps in the surrounding area. - The surrounding area includes any area outside of 1 traps' width/length in any direction.
i.e. the player must be able to move before being hit by the traps.
(Use the same rule as transition and traps, in relation to distance)
Back to top
LAW 28: One Player, Multiple Accounts:
You cant use one of your own characters to buff another of your characters. We dont mind if you have two+ accounts on, but one or more characters MUST be parked in Loftenwood (Doing nothing but talking). Meaning its just a dummy that just sits there and chats. No money exchanges... or dropping of gear... NOTHING but chatting. IE, you can use only one active player at a time.

DM's can use (1) Player and (1) DM char. Obviously, you cant touch your own player character.

Failure to respect the rules will result in the removal of you characters from the game
Back to top
LAW 29: Obediance of the laws:
By playing on DEX you are hereby agreeing to obey the laws of the server. Ignorance is not an excuse.

Objective views of Harrassment will be taken from a DM.
Back to top
LAW 30: Have Fun:
:D

Remember the rules, but also remember that this is a game that's meant to be enjoyed.

Follow the rules, but most of all: Have Fun, Enjoy.
